“Show a Heart for Children with Cancer” – successful campaign at the City Run Basel

On 20 and 21 November 2021, it was once again time for the City Run Basel which even had a city run for children on the Sunday. And the “Show a Heart for Children with Cancer” campaign was once again carried out together with the Basler Kantonalbank. Every person that finished the race was rewarded with an illuminated heart, with the bank making a donation of 5 Swiss francs for each finish to the foundation.

“It was very emotional – there were so many fantastic people who followed the call #ZeigeHerz (Show a Heart) both on and off the track,” said Julia Lehmann, Office Manager.

Once again, the whole thing was a great success: thousands of hearts lit up over the two days for the sick children and their families. 4,436 runners carried a heart across the finishing line, helping to raise a donation of CHF 22,180 from the Basler Kantonalbank. But it was not only the runners who wanted to show they have a heart – the spectators were also happy to wear a red illuminated heart for a donation of 5 Swiss francs, resulting in a total of another 1,600 Swiss francs in cash donations.
