The annual highlight is back!

The ARFEC camp was held once again at the beginning of August after it could not take place last year due to the pandemic. As always, it was held under a specific motto – this year, the Olympic Games. Almost eighty children aged two to 16 were invited to spend a week together at the Ancien Grand Hôtel in Chandolin in the canton of Valais.

The participants were supervised by a 15-member team and looked after by service members of the Vaud Civil Defence, members of the ARFEC Board and nurses. A dedicated kitchen team was there to cater to all the hungry mouths.

All children, whether sick or healthy, as well as their brothers and sisters enjoyed the varied activities, which ranged from sporty to creative, took place indoors or outdoors and were great fun for everyone.

Due to the pandemic, contact with people outside the “bubble” was avoided as much as possible. Nevertheless, two hikes were organised which gave everyone a change of perspective and a wonderful view of the beautiful landscape of the region.
