WeCanDays 2023 – networking meeting for survivors
The Childhood Cancer Switzerland Survivors’ Centre is inviting 20 former childhood cancer patients to a relaxing hiking and networking weekend in the mountains in Kandersteg on 29 September – at the end of what has been a golden month.
Networking meetings for survivors are important because those affected can find out more about important topics, swap stories with each other and engage in creative and sporting activities. The WeCanDays, which are being offered bilingually in German and French for the first time this year, help to reduce the social isolation that some survivors experience after treatment as well as the isolation that was felt during the pandemic. In addition to social and emotional support, this time out also aims to provide information about the long-term effects of cancer treatment, improve the quality of life, offer networking opportunities, raise awareness and celebrate successes. They strengthen[CB1] self-confidence and help to improve the quality of life.
