EU-CAYAS what?
Europe has initiated an exciting new project: EU-CAYAS-Net (European Cancer Adolescents and Young Adult Survivors) that was launched in October 2022. This pioneering project, in which Childhood Cancer Switzerland is also involved, focuses on the pressing concerns of young people living with or after cancer. Topics such as transition, follow-up care, long-term effects, career paths, networks, partnerships, knowledge sharing and a sense of community are the focus of the project.
The Young Cancer Survivors are currently working on an interactive virtual platform called www.beatcancer.eu, which is already available in eight languages, including English, German, French and Italian. Further languages are to follow. The main objective is to promote networking within Europe – in the various languages and countries.
The first German webinar on the project and the already very promising platform is taking place on 20 October. The webinar will clarify the possibilities and opportunities for the German-speaking community. Ambassadors from Germany, Austria, Luxembourg and – representing Switzerland – the Head of the Survivors’ Centre at Childhood Cancer Switzerland, Zuzana Tomášiková, are looking forward to a lively exchange.
Interested survivors can register for the webinar here.
EU-CAYAS is more than just a project. It is a movement that will have a positive impact on the lives of young cancer survivors in Europe!
